Dejan Kulusevski ‘ticks boxes’ for Man City as Tottenham star transfer claim made
Thomas Frank is not short on quality players at Tottenham.
Spurs was home to several quality players before the summer transfer window ran its course. But now the North London club is one of the envies of the Premier League.
Xavi Simons made his Tottenham debut in their win over West Ham and reflects the Joe Lewis family’s desire to prioritise Spurs’ sporting success.
Mohammed Kudus and Joao Palhinha have had strong starts to life in North London. Meanwhile, it has been suggested that Randal Kolo Muani could make his debut for Spurs against Villarreal in the UEFA Champions League.
But with fans’ haste to back their new signings, some of Spurs’ older players have been swept under the rug.

This article includes exclusive comments from Lilywhite Rose owner John Wenham.
Dejan Kulusevski ‘ticks so many boxes’ at Tottenham
Dejan Kulusevski has been sidelined at Tottenham since suffering an injury during Spurs’ home 2-0 defeat to Crystal Palace last season.
The Swede was considered one of the Lilywhites’ most important players before injury struck. But seems to be an afterthought in conversations surrounding Tottenham’s best lineup.
However, Tottenham expert and Lilywhite Rose owner John Wenham – speaking exclusively to Tottenham News – believes he’s not only good enough to play for the likes of Manchester City. But Kulusevski will be an “outstanding contributor” for Spurs once he returns.
“I think you’ll always find a place for a player of these really unique characteristics in terms of the ability to get goals, his creativity, his strength, his leadership,” Wenham said.
“I think he ticks so many boxes. He’s such a good player to the point where, you know, he wouldn’t look out of place at Man City or any other massive club. I think he’s that good.
“So I’m sure when he’s back, he will come back into our team and will be an outstanding contributor as he always is.”

Where will Dejan Kulusevski play once he returns?
Kulusevski is hoping to return to Tottenham within the next couple of months, but could find it difficult to regain his starting spot under Thomas Frank.
There were concerns that Simons could displace him in the starting lineup. However, the Dutchman started for Tottenham against West Ham on the left wing.
Furthermore, Kulusevski’s versatility is a bonus which will help him rack up minutes once he returns to the fold.
- Kulusevski has played 115 games as a right winger since the start of his career
- The Spurs star has played 72 games in the central midfield and 52 games in the attacking midfield
- Kulusevski can also play as a second striker and left winger
As a result, the Swede will likely be a key play for Frank over the next couple of seasons, rotating between the wing and midfield.
