Davide Frattesi wage demands speculated as Tottenham eye £29m transfer

Bryan King expects that Inter Milan midfielder Davide Frattesi would demand “big money” to sign for Tottenham.

The ex-Spurs scout isn’t sure how likely a potential transfer is.

As reported by Inter Live [26 November], Tottenham could offer Inter Milan £29million to sign Frattesi.

However, King – speaking exclusively to Tottenham News – doesn’t think the Serie A outfit will let the 25-year-old leave the San Siro without putting up a fight.

“Inter Milan are doing very well this season,” King said.

“Therefore, it will cost a lot of money for Tottenham to sign Frattesi, both in his salary and the transfer fee. I’d be very surprised if Inter were prepared to let this player go.

“It is okay to read these kinds of reports, but what are the chances of actually bringing that player to Tottenham? If a deal could be done, I’d imagine the player would want big money, and we’ve seen some big-money moves not work out for Spurs.”

Tottenham to sign Inter Milan midfielder Davide Frattesi?

Spurs already have several midfielders on their books. However, the North London side are continually being linked with new players in that area of the pitch, with one star already at the club being tipped to leave as a result of ongoing speculation.

Therefore, it would appear as though Ange Postecoglou isn’t entirely satisfied with his options in the middle of the park. As a result, a deal for Frattesi could materialise.

However, the finances involved could act as a stumbling block in any deal, with Daniel Levy and ENIC not known for splashing the cash, something which a damning report recently made clear [via The Athletic, 18 November].

In any case, a January transfer for a player in a team flying high seems unlikely. Therefore, it looks as though Postecoglou might have to make do with what he has until the end of the season, at least.
