Daniel Levy ‘to take step back’ after official Tottenham announcement
Tottenham supporters are bound to be delighted as Daniel Levy is now expected to take a step back in North London after an official announcement.
Levy is perhaps the least popular man at Tottenham.
Supporters have grown tired of the Spurs chairman, evidenced by recent protests outside the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
Despite all of Spurs’ commercial success under his chairmanship, Levy’s time in North London hasn’t brought much success on the pitch.
As a result, supporters are desperate for the 62-year-old to take a step back, and it looks as though that wish could be coming true after an official announcement was made by Tottenham.

Tottenham appoint Vinai Venkatesham as Chief Executive Officer
Tottenham announced on Friday (11 April) that former Arsenal Chief Executive Officer Vinai Venkatesham would be joining the Lilywhites in the same role at the end of the season, dealing a blow to Newcastle United in the process.
It is a move which perhaps spells trouble for Scott Munn at Tottenham.
Vinai Venkatesham – Arsenal | Time |
Various sales/partnerships roles | 2010-2014 |
Chief Commercial Officer | 2014-2018 |
Managing Director | 2018-2020 |
Chief Executive Officer | 2020-2024 |
However, Levy’s stranglehold on Tottenham isn’t likely to be impacted, although ex-Spurs scout Bryan King – speaking exclusively to Tottenham News – believes the Spurs supremo could take a step back once Venkatesham begins his work.
“If Venkatesham is the Chief Executive Officer, he should be the one running the football club,” King said.
“However, he will still report to Levy, of course. I don’t see any problem with the Arsenal connection, as long as he did a good job while he was there. That is all that matters.
“Levy will be the one who makes the final decisions. I’d imagine he will still be in charge of the finances, and every move that Venkatesham makes has to go through Levy anyway. There is a lot to be done at Tottenham, so it is going to be quite a busy summer for Venkatesham.
“Levy likes to be hands-on. However, perhaps this move is a way for him to take a step back, considering the pressure he has come under from fans, although I don’t think that is going to stop.”

Levy and Venkatesham must form positive working relationship
It appears as though Levy and Venkatesham are going to be working closely alongside each other.
As a result, the two will need to form a positive working relationship, otherwise, things could get messy behind the scenes at Tottenham.
