Daniel Levy ‘ready for new investment’ as Tottenham exit confirmed – Exclusive

Tottenham and Daniel Levy have endured a turbulent relationship for several years now.

Performances have been woeful in the Premier League, with Ange Postecoglou still facing the Spurs sack, despite winning the Europa League.

Financial revelations at the London club have not gone unnoticed, triggering Tottenham supporter protests against Levy and co.

However, the Lilywhites have undergone a recent shakeup at the very top, which could change the pattern of spending by ENIC and Levy.

Changes expected at Tottenham amid Champions League football

Just days ago, it was announced that Donna Cullen will step down from her role on the Tottenham board.

Cullen has essentially been Levy’s right-hand woman ever since she began as a board member back in 2006.

Speaking on her departure, as well as the hierarchy’s plans for the summer, football finance expert Dan Plumley offered some insight into the situation.

“It is perfectly plausible that goes hand in hand with looking for fresh investment,” he exclusively told Tottenham News when asked if Cullen’s exit could see outside cash injections.

“Spurs are the next club on the list of Premier League clubs, if you’re looking at high-value takeovers and looking at a full purchase acquisition.

“They’re in that mix of a £3billion starting point, so that kind of big takeover would appear to be the next one on the agenda.

“Levy has always been coming out and saying that they are looking for fresh investment. It’s never quite materialised.

“The infrastructure of that club, the finances of it, despite the disaster on the pitch this season, it’s still one of those clubs that people will look at, with that very high net worth.

“Champions League football will add another £80million on the revenue line for the club next season, which will push the valuation up slightly.

“The Champions League factor gives them the platform to spend, but it almost forces their hand because you have to look at the quality of teams in that competition and look to compete there as well.”

Levy risks more protests if Spurs fail to spend

Given how the Tottenham supporters already feel about the lack of spending in North London, Levy must spend if he remains in charge.

The Lilywhites must fight on all fronts next term, and if they fail to spend, then another embarrassing season could be on the cards.

Spurs have already been linked with a move for Bayern Munich’s Leroy Sane, which would certainly be a statement of intent.

However, they will need much more than that to distance themselves from this season’s Premier League disaster.
