Daniel Levy blasted by Tottenham insider after Man City transfer developments
Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy has been urged to show more ambition in the winter transfer window.
Ange Postecoglou has lost an unprecedented amount of players to injury in recent months, with Dominic Solanke the latest first-team player to suffer a crushing blow [via Paul O Keefe, 18 January].
However, despite this, Spurs have still only signed goalkeeper Antonín Kinský – a deal which, in fairness to Levy, the Tottenham chairman did play a big part in.
Meanwhile, Manchester City – who are also struggling for form this season – are on the verge of signing centre-back Abdukodir Khusanov and forward Vitor Reis [via Fabrizio Romano, 17 January], while Omar Marmoush is set to have his medical with the club on Monday (20 January) ahead of completing a move to the Cityzens worth £67million [via Florian Plettenberg, 18 January].
Therefore, Lilywhite Rose owner John Wenham – speaking exclusively to Tottenham News – doesn’t understand why Spurs can’t act in the same way.
“We’ve seen in this window that Manchester City are feeling weak,” Wenham said.
“Therefore, they’ve gone out and signed multiple players by the middle of the window with no problem. Meanwhile, clubs don’t want to deal with Tottenham.
“That is the difference, City go in and get transfers done, whereas we make all these nonsense offers which include different clauses, yet fans are still expected to pay big season ticket prices upfront.
“That is why we are where we are, because of how Levy and the club operate. It is time to start acting like one of the richest clubs in world football because City have been able to go and get deals done in a month where transfers are supposedly so hard to do.”
Daniel Levy urged to act as Tottenham injury crisis drags on
If Levy ever needed a wake-up call, Solanke’s injury should serve as a big one.
Spurs need signings, otherwise, their season is at risk of turning into a complete disaster. There certainly isn’t a shortage of players available, with Paris Saint-Germain centre-back Milan Škriniar continually linked with a move to North London [via Ben Jacobs, 18 January].

However, if the club are going to bring players in, Levy needs to act, with time running out.
In other Tottenham news, talks have been held with another manager as contract news emerges.
