Dani Olmo to Tottenham transfer verdict emerges as agent speaks out
Barcelona midfielder Dani Olmo has been linked with a move to Tottenham.
As reported by Mundo Deportivo (1 January), Ange Postecoglou’s side have made enquiries over a move for the 26-year-old after the Catalan giants failed to register the former RB Leipzig star.
However, in an interview with Fabrizio Romano (3 January), the player’s agent claimed that the Spaniard does not intend to leave the Nou Camp anytime soon, saying: “I can confirm our position has not changed. We are not negotiating with any club.
“Dani is a Barca player and he wants to be a Barca player, he made big efforts in his life to be at Barcelona. It was his desire for a long time”.
And Lilywhite Rose owner John Wenham – speaking exclusively to Tottenham News – has suggested that even if Olmo were to leave Barcelona this month, it wouldn’t be to sign for Spurs.
“That signing would be a statement of intent from Tottenham,” Wenham said.
“However, I can categorically tell you now that there’s zero chance of him coming to Tottenham, because if he was available, Manchester City would be after him, Manchester United would be after him.
“Unfortunately, we’re below those clubs in the pecking order in terms of making signings. Therefore, I can categorically say that won’t happen.”
Tottenham to miss out on Barcelona star Dani Olmo?
Spurs supporters would have been excited to see their side linked with a move for a player of Olmo’s profile, especially with Ange Postecoglou in desperate need of signings.
However, it seems as though talk of Olmo joining Tottenham is simply speculation, rather than a possibility.

Supporters will once again be left wondering why despite the club’s increased revenue off the pitch, they are unable to compete for high-profile signings.
And as long as they continue to miss out on these targets, anger toward Daniel Levy will only increase.
