Damola Ajayi set for ‘Key’ Tottenham role next season after what Under-18 star did recently
John Wenham believes Tottenham Under-18 star Damola Ajayi will be a “key player” for the club’s Under-21s next season.
The owner of the reputable Spurs podcast Lilywhite Rose has been impressed by Ajayi this season.
It comes after the forward netted a hattrick for Spurs’ Under-18s in their 5-3 win over West Brom’s Under-18s on Saturday (27 April).
And Wenham – speaking exclusively to Tottenham News – believes the 18-year-old is set for a promotion next year.
“He started the Under-21s’ first game of the season and scored in a 4-0 win against Manchester City’s Under-21s,” Wenham said.
“Ever since that point, it has been clear that Tottenham like him as a player.
“He is versatile, he can play anywhere across the front line, and I think he will be a key player for the Under-21s next season, I’ve been impressed by him.
“Tottenham’s Under-21s will play in the International Champions Cup next season, which means more game time, and I think Ajayi will be one of the players to benefit from that.”
Damola Ajayi could become a star at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium
Based on what has been said about Ajayi, it appears he is a player whom Ange Postecoglou will like.
The Australian is a fan of forwards who can chip in anywhere across the frontline, and Ajayi has certainly demonstrated that this season.

Considering he has already featured for the Under-21s throughout the current campaign, it won’t be a surprise if he features more regularly at that level next year.
And if he does, a first-team call-up might not be too far around the corner.
In other Tottenham news, one player on loan from the club could be sold after what he was spotted doing.
