Callum Olusesi ‘to feature v Aston Villa’ after triple injury blow at Tottenham
Tottenham gem Callum Olusesi could be handed his Premier League debut against Aston Villa.
Olusesi has been a regular for Spurs’ Under-21s this season.
His fine form has seen him rewarded with a long-term contract at Tottenham, which the 18-year-old recently signed despite interest from Paris Saint-Germain.
Olusesi made his senior Tottenham debut earlier this season in the Lilywhites’ 3-2 UEFA Europa League victory over Hoffenheim at the PreZero Arena (23 January).
Now, with Tottenham battling another injury crisis, the midfielder could feature for Ange Postecoglou’s side when they take on Aston Villa in the Premier League at Villa Park on Friday (16 May).

Olusesi could start for Tottenham against Villa
This season, injuries have not been kind to Spurs, who are expected to be without James Maddison, Dejan Kulusevski and Lucas Begvall for the UEFA Europa League final.
Postecoglou is expected to shuffle the Spurs team against Aston Villa ahead of the trip to Bilbao. Therefore, in the absence of several midfield players, Olusesi has a chance to start.

Lilywhite Rose owner John Wenham – speaking exclusively to Tottenham Hotspur News – believes that the England youth international could make an appearance against Villa.
“I think the defence is the easiest part of the team to pick,” Wenham said.
“I’m sure we’ll see Kevin Danso, Ben Davies, and Djed Spence start the game. I also think Antonín Kinský will continue in goal.
“It is the midfield which is the biggest issue. I’ve seen some suggestions that Olusesi could come into the team. That would be quite a big jump, starting away at Aston Villa, but he could perhaps feature.
“We could see some other youth players come into the squad. Maybe Tyrese Hall will re-emerge? There will definitely be changes, and in the forward line, you’re probably looking at Mathys Tel and Wilson Odobert, or maybe Mikey Moore?”
Postecoglou should trust his youth players
If there was ever a time for Postecoglou to trust his academy players, it is now.
With several injuries in the 59-year-old’s squad ahead of the clash with Manchester United, he cannot afford to risk any more starters in a league that is already lost.
This will be an excellent opportunity for Olusesi, as well as a few others, to prove their future use.
Similar to Postecoglou, if there was a time for Olusesi to demonstrate his value, it is now.
