Brennan Johnson to be axed v Arsenal in four Tottenham changes – Spurs Insider
Brennan Johnson is expected to be axed when Tottenham travel to Arsenal in the Premier League on Wednesday.
Ange Postecoglou will be desperate for a positive result in the North London derby at the Emirates on 15 January, although Jamie Carragher isn’t so optimistic about the away side’s chances.
An update has emerged on the clash being postponed with weather likely to impact proceedings.
However, should the match go ahead, ex-Spurs scout Bryan King – speaking exclusively to Tottenham News – has speculated the four changes Postecoglou might make from the win over Tamworth (12 January).
“I would be slightly surprised if James Maddison doesn’t keep his place, because I think a lot of people see him as a big game player,” King said.
“Timo Werner and Mikey Moore won’t start, that is for sure. Dominic Solanke and Son Heung-min will replace them, and I think Dejan Kulusevski will complete the front three by replacing Johnson. In terms of the midfield, I don’t think Lucas Bergvall will start.
“I imagine we will see Yves Bissouma and Pape Matar Sarr playing behind Maddison. As for the back five, it will be the same as it was against Tamworth, except for Sergio Reguilón, who will be replaced by Djed Spence.”
Ange Postecoglou to make four changes for Tottenham v Arsenal?
Postecoglou remains under serious pressure in North London. Therefore, this match against Arsenal on Wednesday could be crucial.
A win would be massive, and would no doubt lift a lot of the pressure off Postecoglou’s shoulders. However, a defeat would leave a sour taste in the mouths of supporters, who have already shown signs of turning on their manager.

Therefore, it is important that the Australian gets his team selection spot on.
