Dejan Kulusevski to start v Nottingham Forest in early Tottenham team news

Dejan Kulusevski is expected to start when Tottenham host Nottingham Forest in the Premier League.

Ange Postecoglou’s side will welcome Forest to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Monday (21 April).

After successfully reaching the Europa League semi-final, Postecoglou and his players’ full focus will be on ending Spurs’ 17-year trophy drought in Bilbao next month.

As a result, Postecoglou is expected to make wholesale Tottenham changes against Nuno Espírito Santo’s side, with Kulusevski in line to start in North London.

Tottenham ‘focussed on Europa League ahead of Forest clash’

Spurs have very little left to play for in the Premier League, with Alan Shearer sharing his prediction ahead of the North London side’s meeting with Nottingham Forest.

Meanwhile, Paul Merson was amazed by one thing he read ahead of the Premier League showdown, where Forest will be looking to regain their place in the top four.

For Spurs, any hopes of qualifying for a European competition via their league position look all but over.

Therefore, Lilywhite Rose owner John Wenham – speaking exclusively to Tottenham News – thinks Postecoglou will rotate against Forest, as the Australian focuses on the Europa League.

“I expect that there will be changes,” Wenham said.

“Everyone will be on a high and will want to be involved and making things happen. However, I do think Postecoglou will rotate. We will probably see Kulusevski and Wilson Odobert come in.

“We could see Archie Gray and a few others, too. All focus will be on the Europa League.”

Tottenham need to win the Europa League

Spurs find themselves in a very strange position.

Should they fail to win the Europa League, this would be one of the worst seasons in the club’s recent history, and Postecoglou will likely be sacked.

However, should Tottenham reach the final and win in Bilbao, Postecoglou would go down as one of the greatest managers in Spurs’ history. As a result, the 59-year-old’s full focus needs to be on Europe, which means rotating in the Premier League.
