Archie Gray ‘to help Tottenham seal brand-new transfer’

Archie Gray could help Tottenham sign a brand-new player as the North London club set their sights on a Leeds United sensation.

Spurs signed Gray from Leeds for £30million in the most recent summer transfer window.

As a result of a severe injury crisis in North London, which has seen Spurs’ medical staff brought into question, Gray has been required to play a lot of football out of position this season, most notably at centre-back.

However, the 19-year-old has risen to the task, with the Spurs ace recently recognised at the London Football Awards.

Following his impressive debut season, it has been suggested that Gray is already worth £50million, and it looks as though Tottenham now want to sign a player with a very close relationship with the midfielder-turned-defender.

Tottenham want to sign Leeds United 16-year-old

Spurs and Leeds have exchanged a lot of players in recent times, with Manor Solomon likely to be the latest to swap North London for West Yorkshire after his loan spell at Elland Road.

However, Solomon might not be the only player making a move between the two clubs ahead of next season. As reported by TBR Football (19 March), Spurs want to sign Harry Gray, younger brother of Archie.

The North London club are aware of the 16-year-old’s progress and are keen to sign the striker, with Arsenal and Newcastle United also interested.

And ex-Spurs scout Bryan King – speaking exclusively to Tottenham News – thinks Archie could help his new club strike another blow to his former side.

“Spurs would be in a strong position to sign this player because of [Archie] Gray,” King said.

“Having two brothers at a football club could be a nice boost. Archie’s presence at Tottenham will help convince Harry to sign for the club, and it could also help the youngster to settle in.

“It’s always nice to go to a new football club knowing somebody is there and ready to put their arm around your shoulder.”

Tottenham have a clear path to sign Gray

Spurs should be able to easily sign Gray ahead of Arsenal and Newcastle United.

Having seen the opportunities that have been offered to his brother during his time with Spurs so far, Gray will surely be convinced that Tottenham is the right place for him to continue his development.
