Archie Gray claim made after what Postecoglou has done at Tottenham – Exclusive
Ange Postecoglou has snubbed Archie Gray more often than not recently for Tottenham.
As we approach the end of the season, there is a lot of work to be done at Tottenham, though their main focus will remain on Europa League success.
With a 3-1 lead against Bodo/Glimt ahead of the reverse fixture, Tottenham have all but sealed their spot in the final of the competition, and it appears as though Manchester United will await them.
Throughout that success, Gray has been an ever-present for Spurs, and has been one of the very few positives from an otherwise dismal season, though his lack of involvement recently has led to questions.

Postecoglou has benched Gray for Spurs
Despite the fact that Gray has been a standout performer for Tottenham, the youngster has started just one game dating back to mid-March, though Paul Robinson thinks it isn’t something worth looking into until the new campaign gets underway.
Speaking to Tottenham News, Robinson said: “I think you’d judge [if he’s part of Postecoglou’s immediate plans] probably 12 games into next season. And if Postecoglou is even still there next season, I think Archie Gray’s had a fantastic season.
Tottenham | Premier League | FA Cup | EFL Cup | Europa Leagye |
Gray appearances | 24 | 2 | 5 | 10 |
“I don’t think he could have even dreamt of playing the amount of games that he has done, or the big games that he has this season. And if such an impact is getting applauded, it’s an accolade from everywhere. And I think you look at the season as a whole, it’s a great season..
“You micromanage the last few games. You can say he’s not played and he’s not played a part. But obviously, over the course of the season, you look at the percentage of games that he’s played, and even more so, the percentage that he started.
“I just think the whole season has been a success for him. I don’t think you can read too much into it. You go 12 games into next year, if he’s not playing, then we might have that conversation.“

Tottenham need to build around Gray and Bergvall
With or without Europa League success, this season will not be remembered particularly fondly, given the shortcomings domestically.
However, Gray and Lucas Bergvall have been two players who have stepped up to the plate and delivered when needed, and if success is to come in the near future, the team simply needs to revolve around those two talents.
