Ange Postecoglou ‘to stay at Tottenham’ amid fresh sack claims

Ange Postecoglou has seemingly bought himself some additional time at Tottenham with their recent form in the Premier League.

A 4-1 win against Ipswich Town secured a third straight league win for Tottenham who have had a troubled season as a whole.

Those struggles have seen Postecoglou under increasing amounts of pressure to keep his job at Spurs, though Daniel Levy has continued to back the Australian.

Questions have been asked as to whether Postecoglou will be afforded the time to see out the remainder of the season and it very much appears to be the case.

Postecoglou sack prediction made at Tottenham

Tottenham certainly impressed against Ipswich, with Postecoglou aided by the return of several key players after lengthy spells on the sidelines.

Those returns could be exactly what has been needed for Postecoglou to alleviate some of the pressure on his future, with Paul Robinson alluding to that when making his sack prediction to Tottenham News.

“I think he’s in the job until the end of the season in all honesty,” said Robinson.

“I think he deserves that opportunity, because there’s no managers available who would jump out and go, that’s the one for us. I think with him, they’ve been hugely hampered by injuries, more so than any other club.

“He’s had 12 players injured, probably eight of them would start every game if you like. So you look at how his hands have been tied. For me, he’s there until the end of the season.

“I don’t think he got back as much as he probably wanted to or was needed in January. But you get nothing by sacking a manager at this stage of the season when they’re still in the Europa League. European places in the league look out of touch. I don’t really see the benefit in sacking him now.”

Daniel Levy needs to see progression from Postecoglou

With how the season has panned out, Levy could have easily pulled the trigger by now but opted against that in favour of backing his manager.

However, Postecoglou must ensure that Tottenham impress between now and the end of the campaign to have any hopes of keeping his job for the new campaign.

Just the Europa League remains for Spurs if they are to taste any success in the form of silverware.
