Bryan Mbeumo to Tottenham: Ex-Spurs scout shares how much transfer will cost

Tottenham have been credited with an interest in Brentford star Bryan Mbeumo.

As reported by Fabrice Hawkins via RMC Sport (15 January), Arsenal and Manchester United – as well as Spurs – are all interested in the Cameroon forward.

With Ange Postecoglou under serious pressure in North London, the arrival of Mbeumo could help the Australian to turn things around.

However, ex-Spurs scout Bryan King – speaking exclusively to Tottenham News – thinks it will take a lot of money to convince the Bees to sell their star man.

“Brentford will want big money for Mbeumo,” King said.

“We’re talking about the £60million price mark. However, why should they sell their top scorer at the moment? Brentford are playing the kind of football we were expecting Spurs to play.”

Mbeumo would be a statement signing in North London.

With 13 Premier League goals to his name this season, the 25-year-old has been one of the most impressive performers in England’s top flight.

Therefore, it is no surprise that a host of clubs are interested in the Brentford forward. However, that will also come as a disadvantage to Spurs in their hopes of signing the player.

Daniel Levy isn’t a man who is known to splash the cash, and with plenty of interest in Mbeumo, a bidding war could break out, with Brentford unlikely to be in any rush to sell.

As a result, that would require Spurs to pay big money. Therefore, fans are unlikely to be getting their hopes up about signing Mbeumo.

In other Tottenham news, Levy is two games away from scrapping his Postecoglou plans.
