Yves Bissouma sends message to Ange Postecoglou at Tottenham
Ange Postecoglou has some serious thinking to do after what Tottenham midfielder Yves Bissouma did on Thursday.
Postecoglou is under immense pressure in North London.
Rumours are rife about who might replace the Australian following Spurs’ 2-0 Premier League defeat against Fulham at Craven Cottage on Sunday (16 March).
Mauricio Pochettino could seal a sensational Tottenham return, while Andoni Iraola, Marco Silva and Thomas Frank are all also potential options for Daniel Levy should he decide to sack Postecoglou.
If the 59-year-old is to keep his job, he will need to turn things around after the March international break, and Bissouma has demonstrated that he might finally be ready to help.

Bissouma shines away from Tottenham
Postecoglou made wholesale Spurs changes against Fulham, a decision which didn’t go down well among supporters.
Bissouma, who has spent most of his time on the bench in recent weeks, was one of the players brought into the starting lineup at Craven Cottage. However, the 28-year-old was hooked at halftime after a horrendous display which made Postecoglou look stupid.
Tottenham 2024/25 | Appearances | Starts |
Yves Bissouma | 35 | 22 |
Therefore, it would be fair for fans to assume that the former Brighton man won’t make it near another Spurs starting lineup as long as Postecoglou is in charge.
However, based on his performance for Mali on 20 March, that might have changed.
Bissouma started and provided two assists for his nation in a 3-0 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifying win over Comoros at the Stade Municipal de Berkane.
As a result, it seems as though the Spurs ace could be more useful than Postecoglou might have perhaps thought.

Postecoglou could use Bissouma further forward at Tottenham
If Postecoglou is going to keep his job, he will need his players to perform in the coming weeks.
And with the likes of Son Heung-min showing signs of struggle, a positive Bissouma performance on international duty will no doubt come as a welcome surprise.
The midfielder played in a more advanced role for his country against Comoros, and Postecoglou could perhaps consider deploying Bissouma in a similar position at Tottenham whenever he needs to call on him.
