Tottenham ‘to miss out on £86.5m windfall’ after what Ange Postecoglou has done

Ange Postecoglou has been under a lot of scrutiny this season, and his failure will impact the finances at Tottenham.

Tottenham have quite literally nothing left to play for in the Premier League, showcasing just how miserable of a season it has been in North London.

Injuries have played a part in that shortcoming, though most of that blame will be on Postecoglou, who remains under serious threat to keep his job.

Europa League success remains a possibility, but a failure to achieve that will not only cost Postecoglou his job, but also force Tottenham to rue a huge missed opportunity.

Champions League qualification seems unlikely for Spurs

Tottenham have embarrassed themselves domestically, and as a result of that, there isn’t a route to European qualification via the Premier League.

However, should they win the Europa League, Tottenham would qualify for the Champions League and gain access to some of the biggest finances available in the world of football.

Round of 16£9.4m
Quarter finals£10.7m

As relayed by Sky Sports, a total of £86.5million is up for grabs for each team entering the competition, which would be a huge boost for all involved.

However, that of course hinges on whether Spurs can win the Europa League, which, given the lack of form and confidence under Postecoglou, appears incredibly unlikely.

A season without success isn’t particularly unfamiliar at Tottenham, though a season without European football could have some drastic effects on various aspects of the club.

Daniel Levy holds the key to Tottenham success

Postecoglou needs to be sacked regardless of what happens between now and the end of the season, though Daniel Levy is the only one capable of making that decision.

Tottenham have a huge summer ahead, though their ability to recruit is likely to hinge on whether or not they have European football next season.

A huge few weeks await Spurs, with a Europa League encounter with Frankfurt rapidly approaching.
