‘Tottenham can greenlight midfield transfer’ amid Aston Villa development
Tottenham could be set for a change in midfield if a transfer goes through at Aston Villa in the summer transfer window.
The Lilywhites have had a difficult campaign under Ange Postecoglou who has put all of his eggs in the Europa League basket.
Now Spurs await a clash against Eintracht Frankfurt in the quarter-finals with precious little left to play for in the Premier League.
The summer window will already be in the back of the Australian’s mind in North London and all could depend on Aston Villa in the early stages.

Yves Bissouma could join Aston Villa
There is going to be a number of departures from N17 this summer after what has been a largely dreadful campaign on the domestic stage.
The likes of Son Heung-min have been heavily linked with an exit after what has been a quiet year by his usual standards.
By comparison, Bissouma has failed to step up to the plate and has found himself relegated to second or third-choice option for Spurs.
With that being said, a summer sale could prove to make sense for the Mali international as he looks to get his career back on track.
Unai Emery’s Villa side has shown an interest and could look to bring the 28-year-old in amid interest from across France [GIVE ME SPORT, 23 March].
If a deal was to go through for the Malian, there would be a hole in the side in North London which would need filling before the new campaign kicks off.

Tottenham could replace Bissouma with Johnny Cardoso
If a new midfield option is needed, Cardoso appears to be the obvious option for Spurs.
Real Betis have an agreement with the N17 outfit over a non-mandatory purchase option worth £20.8 million which could be activated in the summer.

The 23-year-old could prove to be the perfect option under Postecoglou but may be scuppered if Aston Villa don’t bring Bissouma in.
