Alfie Dorrington to hand in Tottenham transfer request after recent update
Tottenham gem Alfie Dorrington has every right to feel aggrieved after recent news in North London.
Ange Postecoglou is under huge pressure and needs to start producing results, especially with the likes of Massimiliano Allegri potentially waiting in the wings.
Therefore, the Australian will be desperate to pick up three points in the Premier League against Wolves at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Sunday 29 December, with the Spurs boss expected to make three changes for that clash.
However, after recent injury updates on Radu Drăgușin and Ben Davies, it looks as though the home side are facing an uphill battle in North London on Sunday.
With so many first-team defenders unavailable, it only seemed logical that Postecoglou would turn toward 19-year-old centre-back Dorrington to fill in.
However, according to George Bann via X (27 December), Yves Bissouma is the man who is expected to start at centre-back alongside Archie Gray, a decision which has caused outrage among fans, with Postecoglou seemingly walking himself right off the Tottenham plank.
And no one is likely to be more angry than Dorrington, who should perhaps look to quit Tottenham as a result.
Alfie Dorrington to hand in transfer request at Tottenham?
While it might perhaps seem a little dramatic to suggest a player should leave a football club because of one selection decision, if Bissouma does start ahead of Dorrington against Wolves, it would be pretty telling.
If Dorrington isn’t able to get a game when all four senior centre-backs are out, and a midfielder, who is a year younger, is starting ahead of him, he will wonder when he will get a game at all.
Therefore, he might feel as though he would be better suited moving to a club where he is likely to get more playing time.
Plenty of young players have been handed first-team minutes this season. As a result, there is no reason why Dorrington shouldn’t be handed an opportunity, and if he isn’t, it can only suggest that Postecoglou isn’t a fan.

As a result, unless the Australian is sacked soon, it would make sense for Dorrington to move on.
In other Tottenham news, one manager expects to succeed Postecoglou.
