Thomas Frank has been handed an unexpected gift for Tottenham as they face Wolves in the Premier League.

While a home encounter with the top flight's bottom side may be a mouth-watering proposition for Frank, there is reason to be apprehensive.

Spurs have a wretched record against Wolves and have not beaten them on home soil since 2022.

However, their chances of victory have been given an emphatic boost after surprising developments at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Pape Matar Sarr spotted at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium

Jeff Stelling believes that Spurs will pile misery on Wolves as they strive to bag their first point of the Premier League season.

While that may well happen, the Lilywhites cannot afford to be complacent in a fixture that has not been kind to them in recent years.

However, it appears that Sarr is to be named in the matchday squad after he was spotted in training gear at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in footage shared by Spurs' official X account.

The midfielder has been in sumptuous form this campaign, taking his game to another level under his new head coach.

  • Sarr has completed 82% of his passes this season
  • He has won 2.3 of his aerial duels
  • Averages 49.8 touches per game

Whether the 23-year-old will start remains to be seen, but he could be the winning ingredient in North London.

Pape Matar Sarr has been immense for Spurs this season

Sarr had to prove himself under Frank, and he has surely achieved that already in the early stages of the season.

Not only has the 23-year-old been his usual busy self, but he has also produced in front of goal for the Lilywhites.

  • Sarr has a goal and an assist already this term
  • He has a goal conversion rate of 33 per cent
  • Averages 0.5 shots per game

“By the way, I think Pape has been amazing," Frank said via Tottenham's official website when speaking about Sarr in early August.

"I really like how he has played and performed in the last four weeks, training and in games. He’s building, and his all-around game today... top.”

Indeed, Sarr has been outstanding for Spurs and is living up to the praise offered his way by his grateful head coach.
