Ange Postecoglou would be wise to keep an eye on Tottenham Under-21 goalkeeper Luca Gunter.

Postecoglou has several problems at the moment.

One of the main problems exposed during that match was in the goalkeeping department.

Guglielmo Vicario has come under fire in recent weeks. Therefore, Fraser Forster had the perfect opportunity to make an impression on Postecoglou when he was given the nod against Coventry City.

However, he did anything but impress. Instead, the 36-year-old's display was so underwhelming that ex-Spurs scout Bryan King has called for Tottenham to find a brand-new number two.

Searching for another goalkeeper is the last thing Postecoglou needs to be doing right now as he looks to fix Spurs' other problems and get the club back on track. As a result, the Australian will be relieved to know there could be a solution to his problem right under his nose.

Ange Postecoglou should hand an opportunity to Luca Gunter at Tottenham

It is not often that a goalkeeper concedes four goals yet still receives high praise. However, that is exactly what happened to Gunter on Friday (20 September).

As per Spurs' official website (20 September), the 19-year-old was in "outstanding" form despite his side losing 4-1 to Fulham's Under-21s in Premier League 2.

The shot-stopper made a string of saves, with the final scoreline an unfair reflection of his overall performance in Stevenage.

While he is still young, there aren't many goalkeepers blocking Gunter's pathway. Brandon Austin and Alfie Whiteman are both unproven, while Forster has done little to lay claim to the number-two position.

Fraser Forster is the current backup goalkeeper at Tottenham.

Therefore, with the UEFA Europa League set to get underway this month, Postecoglou should hand Gunter an opportunity to stake his claim.
