Tottenham loanee Alfie Devine can cause upset in Port Vale v Middlesbrough, Ange Postecoglou should be watching
Tottenham have plenty of players out on loan for various reasons this season, one of which is youngster Alfie Devine.
The 19-year-old attacking midfielder is currently on a season-long loan at Port Vale, with the teenager having made 20 appearances for his temporary team so far.
And he is in line to make another when his side host Championship outfit Middlesbrough in League Cup action on Tuesday (19 December).

The youngster has really enjoyed himself in the competition, with Devine the only player to have won multiple Player of the Match awards in the League Cup this season, which came against Sutton United and Mansfield Town [WhoScored, 19 December].
With Boro playing a league higher than Port Vale, a cup upset is on the cards, and Devine may just have a key role to play.
The Tottenham loanee boasts three goals and three assists for Port Vale so far, with one of each coming in the League Cup.
All three of his displays in the competition have come against lower-level opposition, with Sutton, Mansfield and Crewe Alexandra all playing in League Two.
Port Vale themselves are in League One, but now face Championship Boro as they look to secure a famous victory, meaning Devine will be forced to up his game should he get minutes on the pitch.
With Tottenham having been knocked out of the competition by Fulham back in August, Ange Postecoglou may just spend some time watching his young loanee in action on the big stage.
And with several injury issues at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium this season, the youngster may just find himself back in North London sooner than expected should he take his chance to impress against Boro.
Devine has already impressed for the first team, with the teenager boasting one goal from his two senior Tottenham appearances so far [Transfermarkt].
Admittedly, that’s a short sample size but Devine has shown that he has the capability to shine in a Spurs shirt so who knows what Postecoglou will decide to do in January if the young hotshot continues to shine in Staffordshire?
In other Tottenham news, Daniel Levy has produced a masterstroke as one 87 per cent ace is flying high under Postecoglou.
