Tottenham: Leo Black surely on Ange Postecoglou radar after England Under-18s feat

Tottenham have a long list of players currently away from North London for the international break, which is quickly coming to an end.

That will relieve manager Ange Postecoglou, who will want his senior stars back, and injury-free, as soon as possible.

But the man in the dugout may also be keeping an eye on one or two of his youngsters, one of which has just clinched silverware with his nation.

Tottenham youngster Leo Black has made 21 appearances for Tottenham Under-18s in all competitions this season, with the right-back impressing with four goals and six assists.

And he has now taken that success to the international stage, with the teenager scoring the opener as England Under-18s defeated the Netherlands 2-1 on Monday (25 March), as per the official England Football website.

The win resulted in the Young Lions lifting the U18 Pinatar Super Cup in Spain, with the side having previously beaten Czechia and drawn with Germany in the mini-tournament.

North London youngster Black certainly impressed in various areas against the Netherlands, but also throughout the tournament.

Given his rise to his current level, and indeed Postecoglou’s willingness to give youth a chance, a first-team debut may just be on the cards for the 18-year-old in the near future.

The right-back should also be eyeing progression through the England youth ranks, but of course for now Black should be celebrating the impressive victory in Spain with his teammates.

Their efforts won’t go unnoticed by the likes of England boss Gareth Southgate, even with the manager preparing his side for Euro 2024.
