Tottenham gem Lucá Williams-Barnett sends message as stunning footage emerges

Lucá Williams-Barnett has demonstrated to Ange Postecoglou that he might be ready for a first-team opportunity in North London.

Williams-Barnett has been a revelation for Spurs’ Under-18s this season.

His form has been so impressive that John Wenham described him as the “standout star” of the Under-18 Premier League.

What makes his form even more impressive is that Williams-Barnett only recently celebrated his 16th birthday, and is playing in his first full year with the Under-18s.

Therefore, it is clear that Tottenham have quite a talent on their hands, something which the forward demonstrated again on Saturday (9 November).

Stuart Lewis’ side got back to winning ways at Hotspur Way with a 3-1 victory over Leicester City’s Under-18s in the Under-18 Premier League.

Goals from Tynan Thompsn and defender Ju’nai Byfield, who has been compared to Ledley King, won the match for Spurs. However, it was Williams-Barnett’s stunning equaliser which cancelled out Kaleb Dyke’s opener that would have really captured the imagination of those watching.

Lucá Williams-Barnett shines again for Tottenham Under-18s

For the second time this season, Williams-Barnett found the back of the net from the halfway line.

With seconds to go until half-time, and Spurs trailing by one, footage posted to Spurs’ academy account on X (9 November) shows Williams-Barnett taking on his man before dinking the ball over the Leicester goalkeeper from inside the centre circle.

It was yet another moment of brilliance which proved that Under-18 football is too easy for Williams-Barnett and that he might be ready for a first-team chance, if not, at least a promotion to the under-21s.

Williams-Barnett is clearly already on Postecoglou’s radar after he travelled with the club to Turkey.

However, after this latest strike, Williams-Barnett will have placed himself firmly in Postecoglou’s line of vision.
