Ange Postecoglou sent ‘picture-perfect’ message by Tyrese Hall after Tottenham U21s draw
Tyrese Hall has stepped up tremendously for Tottenham Under-21s recently, and Ange Postecoglou must keep an eye on the young star.
The centre-midfielder started the season with the club’s Under-18s side but was quickly promoted to Wayne Burnett’s U21s team, featuring in 12 matches since.
This change seemed to be a key one as Spurs advanced to the Premier League 2 play-off semi-final after a dramatic 3-3 draw against Liverpool was decided on penalties on Sunday 12 May.
Lewis Koumas opened the scoring for the Reds before an equaliser from Jamie Donley just 15 minutes later. Hall then netted to completely overturn the one-goal deficit for his first of the game.
Just two minutes into the second half, Spurs extended their lead, with Hall on the scoresheet once again, finishing off a “picture-perfect” move with a pin-point volley into the top corner from 12 yards. [Tottenham Hotspur]
Despite two late goals for Liverpool, an Alfie Dorrington own goal and a James Norris equaliser, the youngsters managed to see out extra time and advance via a penalty shootout victory.
Ange Postecoglou must take notice of Tottenham gem Tyrese Hall
Despite deputising in the centre of midfield this season, Hall has a very impressive record with eight goals and seven assists in 29 appearances in all competitions.
The 18-year-old has already seen his performances earn him a promotion to the highest youth level, and will now be aiming to earn his senior debut ahead of the 2024/25 campaign.

Hall has played a mix of games as a centre-midfield and defensive midfielder, with the latter being a position that could be looked at by Postecoglou during the summer transfer window.
However, the Australian could instead turn to one of his club’s academy products instead of spending more money in the transfer window, with players like Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg linked with moves away.
Hall is certainly a youngster to keep an eye on ahead of next season.
