Tynan Thompson is knocking on Ange Postecoglou's door for a first-team opportunity at Tottenham.

Postecoglou has handed plenty of Spurs' youngsters first-team opportunities this season.

There hasn't been a shortage of such players to hand those opportunities to either, with the likes of Luca Wiliams-Barnett and Junai Byfield both making big impacts this season and receiving contract offers as a result [via Lilywhite Rose on X, 7 December].

However, one player who has flown slightly under the radar is Thompson, who has also been featuring consistently and making an impact for Spurs' Under-18s.

The 16-year-old shone in the FA Youth Cup after a 3-2 victory over Middlesbrough's Under-18s at Hotspur Way [8 December], and he was once again a presence as Stuart Lewis' side recorded a 3-1 victory over Norwich's Under-18s in the Under-18 Premier League at Hotspur Way on Saturday [14 December].

Ange Postecoglou must hand first-team opportunity to Tottenham gem Tynan Thompson?

While Thompson didn't get on the scoresheet or provide an assist on Saturday, he was a constant threat for the Norwich backline.

The forward, playing off the left flank, struck the crossbar early on, and should have had an assist after providing a "dangerous" low delivery to goalscorer Ellis Lehane, who failed to convert [via Spurs' Official Website, 14 December].

And after yet another positive display, Postecoglou would be wise to take a closer look at the forward.

While players such as Williams-Barnett, Byfield, Malachi Hardy and Callum Olusesi have all been involved in first-team squads at one point or another this season, Thompson hasn't been handed any such opportunities by Postecoglou, despite also performing well for the Under-18s.

Therefore, with pressure mounting on the Australian, Thompson could perhaps be another unlikely young gem who he could turn toward to save his job.
