Tottenham could be set to have their say in Elliot Anderson's pending move to Manchester City.

The Lilywhites have been linked with their fair share of midfielders without getting a deal over the line yet.

Roberto De Zerbi clearly wants fresh faces in the middle of the park ahead of his first full campaign in charge.

Sandro Tonali, Mateus Fernandes and Alex Scott have been linked as Spurs hold interest in the trio.

That desire to bring in new options will spell bad news for current stars in N17 moving deeper into the summer.

Man City are in a similar boat and are edging closer to the signing of Anderson in a deal that could impact Tottenham.

Tottenham star wanted to replace Elliot Anderson

The big transfer of the summer could be agreed in the early weeks of the transfer window.

The England international could be set to depart Nottingham Forest in a move to the Etihad Stadium.

Reports now suggest that Man City have agreed a club record fee worth £130million for Anderson.

That will leave Forest in desperate need of a replacement and Sky Sports reported on Thursday that they actually want two midfielders to replace the 23-year-old.

One of those is said to be Lucas Bergvall, with interest emerging for the City Ground in the Sweden international.

The 20-year-old has already been linked with a N17 exit, so Anderson's move to Man City could prompt an imminent departure.

How much could Tottenham demand from Nottingham Forest for Bergvall?

As good as it will be for Forest to land £116m this summer, it will make transfer dealings all the more difficult.

They want the Sweden international and he wants to leave Spurs, but he will come at a price.

His contract runs until the summer of 2031 and that leaves Tottenham firmly in the driving seat for a sale.

Fabrizio Romano reported earlier in June that £45-50m may be enough to get a deal done for Bergvall.

That may not be the case with Nottingham Forest involved due to their influx of cash that is so well-known.

The Lilywhites may be able to hold out for closer to £60m to test the Reds' resolve this summer.
