Tottenham want Jamie Bynoe-Gittens transfer as Borussia Dortmund stance emerges
Borussia Dortmund have slapped a £83million valuation on Tottenham transfer target Jamie Bynoe-Gittens, Florian Plettenberg reports.
According to the Sky Sports Germany reporter [1 December], Spurs are closely monitoring the situation but will face competition from Liverpool, Chelsea, and North London rivals Arsenal.
While a move in the 2025 summer transfer window is currently not under consideration, Dortmund could be tempted to come to the table if one of the interested sides is willing to match the eye-watering valuation.
Tottenham face stiff competition to sign Jamie Bynoe-Gittens
The 20-year-old has been on the radar at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium for some time now, Spurs have been sending scouts regularly to Germany to keep tabs on the forward [BILD].
Bynoe-Gittens has been enjoying a breakout season in the Bundesliga, with four goals and three assists in 12 appearances – he opened the scoring in the 1-1 draw against Bayern Munich on Saturday [30 November].
However, Ange Postecoglou must now decide how desperately he wants to add the England Under-21 international to his ranks and whether his acquisition is worth potentially hampering the development of top prospect Mikey Moore.
Regardless, prying Bynoe-Gittens from Dortmund will be no easy task.
Liverpool, Chelsea, and Arsenal all have the financial muscle to meet the Bundesliga outfit’s demands and blow Tottenham out of the water in the contract negotiations.
Therefore, Spurs must convince the youngster that his development will be best served by sporting the white shirt of North London and promising he will become an immediate starter under Postecoglou.
He certainly has the talent to do so with the potential of becoming a world-class talent to match; however, if he continues on his tear through the Bundesliga, the price will undoubtedly rise.
The upcoming January transfer window could be now-or-never for Tottenham to secure one of the brightest prospects in world football.
