Real Madrid forward Rodrygo has been linked with a move to Tottenham.

Daniel Levy made a statement of intent by bringing Mohammed Kudus in from West Ham.

It looked as though the Tottenham spending spree would continue, as the Lilywhites triggered Morgan Gibbs-White's release clause. However, after a long-drawn-out saga, Gibbs-White signed a new contract with Forest.

Therefore, with the Englishman now out of reach, Spurs will need to look elsewhere, and an update has now emerged on Rodrygo after the Brazilian has been linked with a move to Tottenham in recent days.

Rodrygo is not interested in Tottenham move

There was a sceptical but growing understanding among fans that Rodrygo could be a real option for Spurs this summer.

The Brazilian does not seem to be in Xabi Alonso's plans, having started one out of Real Madrid's six FIFA Club World Cup games. Therefore, as reported by The Athletic on Tuesday (29 July), the Madrid board and Alonso will not stand in the way of Rodrygo leaving if a "fair offer" comes in for the winger.

However, Tottenham are not in the race. It is understood that Spurs are not looking for players in his position, while Rodrygo would not be interested in a move to North London.

As a result, Spurs supporters will need to hold out a little longer for their next marquee signing.

Tottenham may have found their Son Heung-min replacement

Tottenham may have already found their answer as to who will replace Son Heung-min next season.

Son is expected to leave Tottenham this summer, a decade after he arrived in North London, with LAFC leading the race for his signature. This leaves a huge gap in the squad, which may have already been filled.

Indeed, Under-18s superstar Tynan Thompson shone during Tottenham's 2-2 draw against Wycombe Wanderers at Hotspur Way on Saturday (26 July).

The winger made an instant impact when he was substituted on midway through the second half. His quick feet and vision saw him slide across the perfect pass to Pape Matar Sarr on the double.

As a result, the teenager could be a long-term replacement for Son.
