Tottenham to be offered players in exchange amid Richarlison exit twist

Richarlison has been linked with an exit from Tottenham and could be on the move in the summer transfer window.

The Brazil international has not had the best of times in North London, dealing with form and fitness issues.

This season, he has just started four out of the 13 league games played and has found the back of the net on four occasions.

Fluminense may offer Spurs players in exchange of Richarlison

According to Bolavip, Fluminense have not given up their pursuit of signing Richarlison this summer.

They will make new contact with Spurs this week in order to see if they’re willing to part ways with the former Everton forward.

Sources claim that a return to Fluminense is not on the cards for the 28-year-old.

He spent two seasons there, making over 50 appearances, before he left for England and joined Watford.

However, despite him not being overly keen on a move, Fluminense are trying to convince Tottenham to do a deal and could offer players from their youth academy to sweeten the deal.

Tottenham need to make big money from Richarlison’s sale

Fluminense’s ambition to sign Richarlison from Tottenham faces significant financial hurdles, making a transfer to a club in Europe’s top five leagues more feasible.

Spurs acquired Richarlison for £50million in 2022, with potential add-ons of £10million and his contract runs until 2027.

Fluminense, despite their interest and willingness to invest, primarily aim for a loan with an option to buy, as their financial capacity is constrained by the high cost of the transfer and the exchange rate of the Brazilian Real against the Pound Sterling.

Tottenham’s reluctance to negotiate without substantial compensation further complicates the deal.

In contrast, clubs in Europe’s top leagues, with greater financial resources and competitive environments, could meet Spurs’ valuation and offer Richarlison the platform to maintain his international profile, aligning with his career goals, making a European transfer appear more practical.

It remains to be seen which players Fluminense offer and whether Tottenham feel that they can make the step up to senior football eventually.
