John Wenham believes Tottenham are "likely" to explore a deal for Bournemouth centre-back Lloyd Kelly this summer rather than Tosin Adarabioyo.

As per The Evening Standard (20 March), Spurs are interested in Fulham defender Adarabioyo, who is out of contract at Craven Cottage in the summer.

He has been in fine form as of late with his current club set to offer him a bumper new deal to ward off interest from the likes of Spurs and Liverpool.

However, despite what is being reported, Wenham does not believe that Adarabioyo will be at the top of Spurs' list of priorities this summer.

Speaking exclusively to Tottenham News, Wenham, the founder of reputable Spurs podcast Lilywhite Rose, said: “I do think we will sign a centre-back, but I don’t think it will be Adarabioyo because he is right-footed.

“We have Radu Dragusin and Cristian Romero, so I think a left-footed centre-back will be brought into the club. Kelly is still available, and that is the transfer that makes sense to me.

“Just like Adarabioyo, [Kelly] is entering the final few months of his contract and there is zero incentive for him to renew right now.

“He might as well keep his cards close to his chest, let his contract run down, and see what offers come in because Tottenham are likely to revisit that deal.”

Could Lloyd Kelly move to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium to play under Ange Postecoglou?

Ange Postecoglou has made it clear that a new defender is a priority ahead of the transfer window opening in a couple of months (The Evening Standard, 15 March).

After previous failed attempts, Spurs could finally land their man with the 25-year-old no closer to agreeing on new terms with Bournemouth.

It would likely be an easy deal to get across the line and would offer some much-needed depth behind Micky van de Ven.
