Tottenham join Lee Kang-in transfer race as January deal ready
Tottenham Hotspur are one of four Premier League sides keen on signing Lee Kang-in from Paris Saint-Germain before 3 February, according to OnTheMinute.
The news outlet reported on 12 January that after Newcastle and Manchester United enquired about the South Korean in the winter window, Spurs and Nottingham Forest have joined the hunt.
With La Liga side Atletico Madrid also interested in the 23-year-old attacking midfielder, Spurs are hoping that PSG are willing to cash in on Lee, who is valued at £33.6million.
Like Forest, the Lilywhites would prefer to pursue a deal for Lee in the upcoming summer transfer window, but widespread interest in him could force their hand as several clubs prepare approaches.
Lee Kang-in transfer not what Tottenham need in January
For all that adding a versatile attacking player would be welcome in the Lilywhites’ injury-hit squad, it’s at the other end of the pitch where Spurs really need to focus their attention before the window slams shut.
Having already addressed their lack of depth between the sticks with the addition of Antonin Kinsky, who has been impressive thus far, Ange Postecoglou is still clearly in need of a central defender or two.

Micky van de Ven and Cristian Romero’s return dates are still some way off, and though the Archie Gray-Radu Dragusin partnership is developing, neither will be a starting centre-back in a fully fit Spurs squad.
The pressing need to add central defensive reinforcements above all else before 3 February could see Spurs miss out on Lee, and miss the chance to unite him with international team-mate Son Heung-min.
Postecoglou has a luxury of attacking talent to choose from even with the injury crisis his side is currently engulfed in, but any move to add Lee will have to wait – and by then it could already be too late.
In other Tottenham news, Postecoglou has the arrival of a “generational” £15million talent to look forward to in North London.
