Tottenham gem Yang Min-hyeok ‘already set for QPR move’
Tottenham starlet Yang Min-hyeok appears to be close to a loan move to Queens Park Rangers, according to Lilywhite Rose.
The reliable Spurs insider reported via X (28 January) a screenshot of a South Korean social media post by the forward implying he will join the Championship outfit.
The translated post appeared to read: “Currently pursuing lease through QPR”.
Spurs signed Yang from Gangwon in a £3.3million deal last summer and he linked up with the North London outfit officially this month.
Tottenham make Yang Min-hyeok blunder
In an ideal world, a loan spell to the second tier would be the next step, allowing Min-hyeok the time to adapt to the demands of English football.
However, Ange Postecoglou has done nothing but bemoan his growing injury list at Tottenham and yet he allows his thin squad to lose another first-team member.
Although all the attention has been focused on the lack of options across the backline, there is also an alarming lack of options to lead the line.
Dominic Solanke will endure an extended spell on the sidelines to the dismay of the supporters, and talisman James Maddison is now also facing a nervous wait to learn the extent of his latest injury setback [Paul O Keefe].
Nevertheless, less than a week before the 3 February deadline, Postecoglou does not have enough time to solve all his problems in the final six days of the transfer window.
Therefore, any player available for minutes in the first team must be retained regardless of promises to become a regular starter elsewhere.
Min-hyeok should not be allowed to leave for QPR – at this rate, his services will be required at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium sooner rather than later.
