Tottenham gather information on Serie A defender for summer transfer approach
Tottenham Hotspur face a crucial summer window if they are to improve on their woeful Premier League campaign.
Ange Postecoglou’s side currently occupy 16th position but are still in with a chance of lifting the Europa League title.
With question marks over Postecoglou’s future at Tottenham, it remains to be seen whether he will be in charge in North London next season.
Regardless of his situation, recent reports suggest Daniel Levy is pressing on with transfer plans.
Spurs targeting a new centre-back
As Tottenham approach the summer window, Cristian Romero’s future hangs in the balance, with the centre-back linked with a move to Spain with Atletico Madrid showing a particularly strong interest.
With that in mind, the Premier League club are looking for potential replacements from across Europe.
Indeed, the North London club are keeping an eye on Inter Milan defender Yann Bisseck, according to TEAMtalk (24 April).
The 24-year-old has performed admirably for the Italian champions this season and even earned himself a call-up to the German national team.
Bisseck has made 34 appearances for the Nerazzurri in all competitions this term, helping Simone Inzaghi’s side keep 18 clean sheets in the process.

TEAMtalk reported that sources have stated Spurs are the latest club to gather fresh details on the defender, but face stiff competition for his signature ahead of a potential summer approach.
Tottenham must strengthen if Romero departs
Postecoglou’s side have endured a torrid season in the Premier League, with injuries hampering their progress.
This has significantly impacted their defence, with the likes of Micky van de Ven, Radu Dragusin, and Romero all sidelined for prolonged periods.
At times, Postecoglou has had to field players out of position, with Archie Gray filling the void in the hub of his backline.
Considering what Tottenham’s defending has been like without those key players, they must strengthen if they are to lose Romero.
Spurs currently have the seventh-worst defence in the division, having conceded 51 goals, and Postecoglou has often been criticised for not adapting his style of play.
Jonathan Tah is a player the club admires and could be a realistic option after he announced he intends to leave Bayer Leverkusen as a free agent this summer.
