Bryan King is not a fan of Timo Werner re-signing for Tottenham on loan.

The ex-Spurs scout was not impressed by the German during his first spell in North London.

It was announced by Tottenham on Tuesday (28 May) that Werner has rejoined the club on loan for the 2024/25 season.

But King - speaking exclusively to Tottenham News - believes the club must do much more this summer.

“Werner does nothing for me at all,” King said.

“He just hasn’t impressed me. He drifts in and out of games and his finishing is quite poor.

“For me, with the wages he is on, he is an overpriced player.

"If they’re bringing him in on loan, then they need to bring in two or three players of a higher level.”

Timo Werner will look to impress Ange Postecoglou once again at Tottenham

Postecoglou clearly liked what he saw from Werner.

If he didn't, the forward wouldn't have been re-signed.

However, this move is only temporary, which suggests the 28-year-old must do much more to convince the club to sign him permanently.

Timo Werner has rejoined Tottenham on loan.

The option was there this summer, but Spurs have declined to take it.

Werner has been given another chance, and he must make sure to capitalise on it next season.
