Southampton ace Dibling green-lights Tottenham transfer
Tottenham Hotspur are the preferred destination for in-demand Southampton midfielder Tyler Dibling, according to TEAMtalk.
The online outlet reported on 21 January that sources close to the player have revealed Dibling’s stance on a potential transfer, having been Southampton’s shining light at the foot of the Premier League table.
Dibling is “very keen” to join the Lilywhites despite strong interest in him from RB Leipzig, and yet with a move before February 3 looking unlikely, Spurs officials are working hard to make the transfer happen [Florian Plettenberg, 21 January.
Tyler Dibling transfer not the immediate priority for Tottenham
Although Dibling, who is under contract at St. Mary’s until 2027, could hit new heights if he makes the move to North London, Spurs signing the teenager ahead of other targets would be a head-scratcher.
The 18-year-old has been arguably the only positive in a dismal season for Southampton – sat bottom of the league with just six points – and came away from their 5-0 defeat to Spurs with his head held high.

RB Leipzig’s track record of developing young players cannot be questioned, and while delaying a move until summer could put paid to Spurs’ chances of signing Dibling, they’ll still be hopeful of getting him.
Delaying a big-money transfer for the teenager, however, would be the right move for the Lilywhites to make at present, given their ongoing injury crisis necessitates reinforcements being added elsewhere.
Adding a central defender and potentially a centre-forward must be much higher on the list of priorities for Ange Postecoglou, and while wide midfielders of Dibling’s talent don’t come along too often, both he and Spurs must be willing to wait.
In other Tottenham news, Spurs have suffered yet another injury setback and hope a key player won’t be out for an extended period.
