Savinho wants to join Tottenham from Man City as wages update shared

Savinho could well be set for a move to Tottenham Hotspur from Manchester City.

The Brazil international has once again emerged as a target for the Lilywhites after strong links last summer.

A move never materialised ahead of the latest campaign, and he was left to play a bit-part role under Pep Guardiola.

It appears that his spell at the Etihad Stadium could be at an end with a move looking likely at this stage.

Savinho could soon join Tottenham from City, but it doesn’t appear that money will be in the way of contract proceedings.

Savinho won’t care about money at Tottenham

The 22-year-old joined the Citizens from Troyes in the summer of 2024 after a stellar spell on loan at Girona.

He’s never quite reached those same heights in the Premier League despite taking LaLiga by storm in his one season there.

It appears that the sky-blue outfit have ran out of patience with the Brazilian and are now willing to let him go.

He looks increasingly likely to be on his way to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, even after consecutive 17th place finishes in the Premier League.

Former scout Bryan King believes his decision to join Spurs will be entirely for footballing reasons and the potential of increased wages will play no part.

Speaking exclusively to Tottenham News, King said: “When you’ve got a squad as big as Man City have, players are always going to be available.

“I think several players will be moving on from there and Savinho is one of them.

Xavi Simons reacts to Savinho transfer news as initial Tottenham talks begin

“They’ll want at least £30million from Tottenham for him.

“He hasn’t been great for them, but if he’s good enough to be brought in by Man City, he’s going to be of interest within the Premier League.

“If the price is right, they’ll let him go to Tottenham.

“He hasn’t been a regular in their team, if you’re a footballer you just want to play football, it isn’t just about money and that’ll be why he wants to join Tottenham.”

Savinho is edging closer to a Tottenham switch, and it would certainly mark a true statement of intent after two dismal seasons.

What could Savinho earn at Tottenham?

Although the winger may not care about an increased pay packet, he is likely to earn a sizable wage in North London.

He is reportedly on an £80,000 weekly salary at Man City, equating to a yearly amount of around £4.1m.

That is only likely to increase in N17 as he pledges his future to a side that has become massively unpredictable.

Things may prove to be better next season, but Savinho could still expect upwards of £100,000 per week to make the move.

That would put him at the higher end of earners at Tottenham at a similar level to Dejan Kulusevski, Richarlison and Micky van de Ven
