Richarlison exit: Tottenham open to January sale after what’s happened
Tottenham will sanction the sale of Richarlison in January should a suitable offer arrive as he is unable to stay fit, according to Darren Lewis.
After another underwhelming campaign, the 27-year-old faces an uncertain future in North London, with Spurs supporters already toying with the idea of potential replacements.
However, Daily Mirror journalist Lewis appeared on the Last Word on Spurs podcast (10 January, 1:02:17) and shared what sources have revealed regarding the Brazilian’s future at Tottenham.
He said: “If [Spurs] got a good offer for him, my understanding is that the club would sell because he just can’t stay fit.
“Yes, when he is fit, there is a player there, but you need someone who you can rely on.”
Tottenham open to selling Richarlison in January
It should be no surprise to the Tottenham faithful that Postecoglou would not stand in the way of Richarlison leaving this month.
The Brazilian’s time in North London has been plagued with constant injury setbacks, and his form since his move from Everton has been massively underwhelming.
Dominic Solanke has taken the mantle of leading the front line and is one goal away from matching Richarlison’s goal tally last year, but we are only in January.
While a potential loan agreement has been mooted, Tottenham will be best served to recoup as much of the £60million paid to Everton for his services in January or the summer before his value plummets even further.

Richarlison may wish to stick it out in North London and fight for his place, but this would be a pointless endeavour – there is no plausible scenario in which he replaces Solanke as the leading centre forward.
He will, of course, be granted opportunities to impress in the Europa League and domestic cup competitions, but his game time will be limited, especially with Tottenham progressing in a deal to sign PSG forward Randal Kolo Muani [Give Me Sport].
It has not worked out for Richarlison at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium and now may be the best time for the club and player to part ways.
