Randal Kolo Muani transfer: Daniel Levy ready to seal Tottenham signing

Tottenham chief Daniel Levy will be directly involved in a deal for Randal Kolo Muani from Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) in the winter transfer window, according to Ben Jacobs.

The Give Me Sport correspondent has revealed that the Spurs chairman will be in contact with Nasser Al-Khelaifi to pull off the signing of the French forward.

Kolo Muani is of interest to the North London outfit, who will push “very strongly” to get a deal over the line in the coming weeks.

Speaking on Last Word On Spurs (6 January), Jacobs said: “This will be a Levy deal, directly with the PSG president. And that relationship between them, they’re on very favourable terms. They’ve worked together at the European Club Association (ECA). They’ve known each other for many years.

“Sometimes of course fans will criticise Levy in his involvement in transfers. But what I’ll say is if there was one club outside the Premier League where you’d want Levy fighting for in your corner, it would be PSG negotiations because he’s probably capable of getting the kind of deal that Spurs will be looking for here.

“I do think Tottenham are going to very strongly push to try and get Muani over the line.”

Daniel Levy to seal Randal Kolo Muani transfer at Tottenham

Levy has rightly come under heavy criticism from supporters over the years for the below-par recruitment at the Lilywhites.

Spurs have failed to fill the void left by Harry Kane after his departure to Bayern Munich in the summer of 2023, despite the arrival of Dominic Solanke.

Tottenham bought Richarlison from Everton, seemingly in hopes of the Brazilian leading their line, but that hasn’t worked out yet.

The 27-year-old has instead spent most of his time in the treatment room, failing to find consistency at the North London outfit.

Solanke was signed in the previous transfer window for Ange Postecoglou, but the England international has failed to make a mark anywhere close to what is needed in N17 so far.

While the defensive fragility of Tottenham needs to be addressed in January, Spurs are lacking quality up front as well.

Timo Werner has been underwhelming in the current campaign, and it wouldn’t be surprising to see the Lilywhites send him back to RB Leipzig sooner rather than later.

Kolo Muani hasn’t been at his best under Luis Enrique, but the 26-year-old’s quality is evident from his time at Eintracht Frankfurt.

In other Tottenham news, Julian Nagelsmann has emerged as a contender to replace Postecoglou.
