Postecoglou and Lange work to seal new Tottenham signing after fresh injury blow
Ange Postecoglou and Johan Lange are “working closely” together to try and pinpoint potential new arrivals for Tottenham in the January transfer window, according to GiveMeSport.
The online outlet reported via their website (1 January) that Serie A ace Patrick Dorgu is a player that Spurs are “seriously considering” making a move for in January.
The report adds that the recent injury to Destiny Udogie has spurred things along somewhat as Ange Postecoglou is getting down to the bare bones with his defensive options.
Dorgu’s current team, Lecce are in a “strong negotiating position” but this hasn’t stopped the full-back from being “firmly” on Spurs’ radar in January.
Ange Postecoglou and Johan Lange must add Patrick Dorgu to the Tottenham ranks
Although the future of the Australian is still under severe scrutiny, it feels like his job at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium is safe for now.
The 2024/25 season has been far from easygoing for Postecoglou and his men due to the sheer amount of defensive injuries they’ve had to take on the chin thus far.
Which is why it doesn’t come as much of a surprise to see the former Celtic boss working closely with Spurs’ technical director to try and find some new recruits for the second half of the season.
Tottenham are currently 11th in the top-flight table and, at the moment, find themselves 11 points adrift of the top four spots.

Only time will tell if Lange and Postecoglou can pull off the coup of Dorgu but if they can, it’ll certainly boost Spurs’ chances of ending the season better off than where they are now.
Which, in reality, is the minimum that fans should be demanding from their team this season.
