John Wenham expects Mason Melia to join Tottenham in January 2026.

The owner of the reputable Spurs podcast Lilywhite Rose has suggested that this will be a "complicated" transfer to complete.

Five or six other Premier League clubs are thought to be interested in the forward, who is unable to move until next September once he turns 18.

And Wenham - speaking exclusively to Tottenham News - is hopeful that a deal can be agreed.

“By all accounts, Melia is a very good player,” Wenham said.

“Unfortunately he can’t move until September, which makes things slightly more complicated because the transfer window would have already shut.

“Therefore, all Spurs can do is sign him, and then leave him on loan with St Pat’s until January 2026. However, it does sound like Spurs are pushing ahead.

“If there are other teams in for him, it would make sense to get the deal done."

Tottenham to sign 17-year-old Mason Melia from St Pat's?

Spurs already have several talented youngsters already on their books, with Mikey Moore, in particular, continuing to make a big impression on the first team. However, it couldn't hurt to add a couple more.

Paying this kind of money for an unproven 17-year-old is a risk. Therefore, it suggests Melia must be rated highly by those at Tottenham, and perhaps Ange Postecoglou himself.

If the young forward does sign, the Australian will have the fun headache of trying to find pathways for all of the young stars in North London.
