Man City star Grealish ‘rekindles Tottenham transfer links’ after late-night message

Manchester City winger Jack Grealish has been on Tottenham’s radar since his time at Aston Villa.

The Europa League champions had agreed a fee for the England international in 2018, with Villa blocking the move at the final hurdle.

Grealish has since been linked with finally making the move to North London, having seen his game time at Manchester City dramatically fall in the last two years.

The prestige and financial boost of the Europa League win means Spurs could be in line to make a move for the player, who appears to still have a soft spot for the North London club.

Jack Grealish shows admiration for Postecoglou

Ange Postecoglou has proven plenty of people wrong as he made good on his promise to deliver silverware to Tottenham.

Ridiculed for his defiant second-season trophy guarantee made in the aftermath of a 1-0 defeat against Arsenal in September, the Australian had the last laugh as he guided Spurs to an unlikely Europa League win.

The triumph has won him plenty of admirers, including Jack Grealish, who posted an Instagram reel (22 May) in the early hours of the morning after the game with a screenshot of the famous post-match interview.

The caption read: “Sorry but u gotta respect it,” along with three laughing face emojis and three saluting face emojis.

Grealish has plenty of experience in winning trophies himself, having won the Champions League and three Premier League titles amongst others since his £100million move to Manchester City in 2021.

Grealish a perfect fit for Spurs

Son Heung-min confirmed his legendary status at Spurs as the first captain to bring silverware to the club, yet his on-pitch influence has dwindled this season, opening up a spot in the team for Grealish.

The England international’s career has stalled at City, having fallen out of favour with Pep Guardiola, yet his undeniable qualities remain.

Known for his one-on-one abilities, the winger can change the game in a heartbeat by unlocking stubborn defences with a mazy dribble or penetrating pass.

Grealish also brings a wealth of experience, and at 29 years old, is still in his prime and could look to rekindle his career at Tottenham.
