Kolo Muani left out of PSG squad amid big Tottenham transfer news
Tottenham Hotspur target Randal Kolo Muani has been left out of the Paris Saint-Germain squad for their Ligue 1 match on Sunday, the French club have confirmed.
As shared on PSG’s official X page (12 January), the out-of-favour French international has been omitted from Luis Enrique’s group of players to take on St Etienne in their first league contest of 2025.
Kolo Muani is a player who has interested Spurs this month, as they look to bolster their attacking options following a dismal first half of the season in the Premier League.
PSG posted their 21-strong matchday squad without the forward, captioning: “The group for the first of the year at the Parc des Princes!”
Tottenham door opening for Randal Kolo Muani
Tottenham and Daniel Levy are under pressure from supporters to loosen the pursestrings this summer, in a bid to strengthen Ange Postecoglou’s squad and climb the table.
There remains time to salvage the season into a successful one, with one foot into the final of the Carabao Cup – though at least 90 minutes at Anfield next month will dictate that – along with the FA Cup and Europa League still providing avenues for silverware.
Spurs are however 12th in the Premier League after 20 matches and must consider players with the talent of Kolo Muani when they become available in January.
PSG want the 26-year-old out the door but would prefer a straight sale or a loan with an obligation to buy in the summer; Tottenham would naturally prefer a mere option to purchase the player.
It could be a saga which drags into the remainder of the month, with the 3 February deadline still weeks away. But alternatively, matters could move quickly and Kolo Muani could wind up in North London very soon if Spurs are serious about a deal.
In other Tottenham news, the Marcus Rashford rumours just won’t fully subside this month.
