Grealish to Tottenham transfer latest as ‘Major’ development emerges

Tottenham remain interested in Manchester City ace Jack Grealish as they look to strengthen their squad in the summer transfer window.

Ange Postecoglou’s side sit just 15th in the Premier League after Sunday’s dismal showing in a 4-2 defeat to Wolves.

Amid their efforts to enjoy a more successful campaign next term, Spurs are keen to enjoy a successful summer transfer window, and Grealish could be an excellent addition.

Meanwhile, Postecoglou will likely need to guide the North Londoners to victory over Frankfurt in the second leg of their Europa League quarter-final on Thursday to save himself from the sack.

Stumbling block emerges as Tottenham pursue Grealish

Grealish has made just seven Premier League starts for Man City this season, while Tottenham would surely be able to hand him more game time if they can land his signature.

But according to TBR Football (16 April), the 29-year-old remains happy at the Etihad Stadium and, crucially, his wages could be a “major” issue for Spurs.

Spurs are eyeing a move for Grealish

Grealish has scored three goals and registered five assists in 30 outings for City this season, most recently scoring in a 2-0 victory over Leicester on 2 April.

Grealish could be a top signing for Tottenham

While Grealish’s wages could prove to be an issue for Spurs in their efforts to bring the wideman to North London, he could be a brilliant signing for them if he does agree to a move.

Although he is reportedly happy with Man City, he would surely be tempted by the prospect of more regular playing time in the Premier League, which is something Tottenham could offer him.

Spurs are enduring a woeful season in the top flight and need a major rebuild over the summer, while Grealish could bolster the North London club’s squad.

Grealish is a quality player who notched five goals and 11 assists in the 2022/23 season, helping City win the treble.

But last season, the former Aston Villa man experienced a lack of game time with Guardiola’s side, and consequently missed out on selection to England’s Euro 2024 squad.

A move to Tottenham could be a win-win situation, as Spurs could reap the benefits of Grealish’s services, while the 29-year-old could get his international career back on track with more regular playing time.
