Tottenham are set to be active in the closing stages of the transfer window as Thomas Frank looks to improve his squad.

Given the injuries to Spurs’ squad, signings have been needed to fill various holes ready for a long season.

However, despite being linked to numerous players, Tottenham have struggled to finalise deals.

Former Spurs target Eberechi Eze recently signed for Arsenal despite being heavily linked with a move to the Lilywhites.

However, with the business they have done, Liverpool ace Hugo Ekitike appears impressed.

Hugo Ekitike reacts to Xavi Simons signing for Tottenham

A statement was made to the rest of the Premier League on Friday as Tottenham finalised the signing of Xavi Simons.

The Netherlands international had been highly impressive in the Bundesliga with RB Leipzig, and will now be looking to repeat this form under Frank.

Tottenham reportedly signed Simons for £51.8million, with the attacking midfielder set to make a big impact this season.

  • Simons was at RB Leipzig since 2023, originally signing on loan
  • The attacking midfielder won the Franz Beckenbauer Supercup at the German side
  • Simons is also an international, winning 28 caps for the Netherlands

Upon the announcement of the signing, the 22-year-old was quick to take to Instagram on 30 August to express his delight with the move.

Plenty of players reacted to this post, including Ekitike, who liked it before commenting two love hearts.

Xavi Simons to be Tottenham’s next big player?

With Son Heung-min leaving Tottenham earlier this summer, many of the North London club’s biggest stars from over the years have now left.

Therefore, this hole needs to be filled, and according to Fotmob on 30 August, Simons is more than capable of achieving this.

The attacking midfielder has multiple impressive statistics and could be an instant hit in the Premier League.

Now, the challenge for Frank is to ensure that the Netherlands international adapts to the English top-flight as quickly as possible.

If he can do this, Spurs could be a force to be reckoned with this season.
