Harry Kane could seal ‘sensational’ return amid Bayern Munich developments
Harry Kane has continued his prolific form since leaving Tottenham Hotspur for Bayern Munich.
The all-time Spurs and England record marksman still awaits his first major honour on the continent and some fans in North London are dreaming of a potential reunion.
Kane, 31, has 28 goals in as many games so far this season – adding to last campaign’s 44 – with 21 of those coming in the Bundesliga.
Harry Kane reacts to release clause reports
Kane has refused to be drawn in on reports of a release clause at Bayern, of which he largely has control.
On page 58 of The Sun on Sunday (9 February), it was reported that the Spurs hero was available to buy in recent transfer windows for £67million.
He will then be on offer for £54million in 2026, leaving the field open for a potential host of interested suitors.
Kane left for Bayern in an initial deal worth £104million in an emotional departure from his boyhood club, having blasted 280 goals in the Lilywhite shirt.
The Three Lions captain reportedly said: “What I can say is that I’m very happy at Bayern. No comment on the clause.”
With 17 wins from 21 so far, Kane’s Bayern side are in the driving seat of the Bundesliga, eight points clear at the top from a Bayer Leverkusen outfit who shattered the Walthamstow boy’s dreams of a first major league title in 2023-24.

Tottenham to welcome back Kane to the fold?
Tottenham fans would certainly be stunned to see Kane return one day, regardless of the age he may have hit by this stage.
The iconic striker essentially has the final say on by whom his release clause is activated, so can turn down any move by which he isn’t fully convinced; Paul Merson recently claimed he could even make a jaw-dropping move to Arsenal (6 February).
While a return to N17 would largely be sentimental – especially if Mathys Tel ends up signing on a permanent deal following last summer’s marquee recruitment of Dominic Solanke – it would be intriguing to discover for how long Kane can stay prolific at the top level.
Kane will be desperate to secure trophies under his belt, which is the sole reason he felt obliged to move to Bayern in the first place. He would have been in utter disbelief upon arriving in Germany and seeing his side miss out on the Bundesliga for the first time in 13 years.
Should the North London legend fancy a return to where it all began – even in his mid-thirties – it would be one Spurs would always struggle to turn down.
