Conor Bradley has already revealed how Andy Robertson will help Tottenham academy
Conor Bradley has already hinted at what Tottenham Hotspur are getting with Andy Robertson.
The Scotland captain is set to sign for Spurs when his Liverpool contract expires.
The Lilywhites confirmed that he will link up with them on 1 July, to continue his career at the elite level.
His influence won't just be felt in the first-team, as academy stars looking to break into the senior side should also benefit.
Robertson can have a brilliant impact on the young hopefuls and the Northern Ireland international can personally attest to that.
How will Robertson help Tottenham's young talent?
Bradley has revealed how Robertson helped him settle in at Anfield when he made his professional debut.
Speaking in an interview in May, he highlighted how the Scotsman calmed his nerves amid the pressure of feeling like an imposter on the biggest stage.
He said: “I just remember my first session, I was so scared of what I was going into because I’ve been supporting Liverpool, I’ve watched all these boys on the TV, seen how good they are.
“I remember my debut, he came up to me and said ‘I’ve watched you for the U23s, just do what you’ve been doing’.
“Things like that stick with you forever.”
That should resonate with the likes of Mason Melia, Tynan Thompson, Jun'ai Byfield and Luca Williams-Barnett, who are hoping to make inroads towards a first-team spot in the near future.
Robertson capture is a huge help all round for Tottenham
The signature of one of the best left-backs of the modern era is a great deal for Spurs.
He has the experience and mentality that should reflect into the squad and make them more competitve.
His leadership should influence youth players and make the transition into Roberto De Zerbi's team a lot easier than it would have been.
He will also take them under his wing, and console them, if they have had a bad game.
If they have had a good game, then he will be the first one over to congratulate and praise them, that is the kind of character that he is.
Spurs need more signings like the 32-year-old, and they should be ready to banish the nightmares of last season, and push on as a club.
It is a huge help for the whole club, as he will set standards and bring the values that have helped him to be very successful at Liverpool to the North London outfit.
It can only be a good thing, for the first-team, but also for the wave of academy kids hoping to make an impression.
