Bayern ready cut-price Mathys Tel transfer to Tottenham after serious Levy news
Tottenham Hotspur signed Mathys Tel on loan from Bayern Munich in January in a bid to cure their severe injury crisis.
The winger has shown his ability in flashes as Ange Postecoglou’s side has stumbled towards the finishing line, especially in the Premier League.
With his loan set to end at the end of the season, the North London club now face a decision whether to move for the 20-year-old permanently.

Daniel Levy keen on Tel Tottenham stay
Spurs are due a substantial overhaul this summer to resurrect their faltering side for the next campaign.
While they face their worst league finish in almost 50 years, they may yet win silverware as they face Manchester United in the Europa League final, which could qualify them for the Champions League.
Position | Club | Points |
16th | Manchester United | 39 |
17th | Tottenham Hotspur | 38 |
18th | Ipswich Town | 22 |
19th | Leicester City | 22 |
20th | Southampton | 12 |
Whatever the outcome, Tottenham must strengthen so that they can compete with the league’s best for the European places.
Daniel Levy is very interested in signing Tel permanently after what he has seen so far, according to Sport Bild (page 18, 14 May).
Furthermore, they claim that Bayern are ready to negotiate a lower fee than the £42million option to buy if Spurs make a serious move.
Of course, the Lilywhites could face competition for the Frenchman’s signature, but at this moment, they have a clear run on him.

Tel transfer would divide opinion at Spurs
At this moment, it is hard to judge Tel’s ability as he has been playing in a team who have been massively underachieving.
The forward has made 18 appearances for Spurs in all competitions but only has three goals and one assist to his name.
Prior to his move to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, he was built up as one of the brightest prospects in European football after a solid season in the Bundesliga.
Last season, he notched seven league goals and five assists as Bayern were pipped by Bayer Leverkusen to the title.
Truth be told, his returns in North London have not been enough, but he could be worth a punt given his age and ceiling.
Bryan King gave a damning verdict on Tel earlier in the season and advised Tottenham against signing him permanently.
However, several Spurs supporters have voiced their desire for the forward to remain in North London for the foreseeable future.
Whatever the decision, Levy has some crucial decisions to make in a summer that he must get spot on.
