Tottenham supporters have been left extremely disappointed by the limited additions to Ange Postecoglou's squad during the winter transfer window.

Kevin Danso and Mathys Tel were the two signings made before the transfer window slammed shut on 3 February, even despite a last-gasp £70million bid for Crystal Palace star Marc Guehi [Ed Aarons].

Frustrations about a lack of activity in the market were made far worse by sporting director Johan Lange's comments, suggesting that the Lilywhites were ready for business on 1 January but halted by changes to formats in UEFA competitions.

Unsurprisingly, fans did not take well to the explanation, citing Lange's comments as an excuse, but Daniel Levy might be able to win some of them back as plans emerge for the summer.

Tottenham consider Adam Wharton and Tyler Dibling transfers

Spurs have already held internal talks over the signings of Palace midfielder Adam Wharton and Southampton star Tyler Dibling ahead of summer, according to FootballTransfers.

The online source reported [7 February] that the Lilywhites are expected to push ahead to secure both players in the next transfer window as part of a long-term vision.

Both talents have been previously linked with a move to Hotspur Way, having impressed at their respective clubs, and the hierarchy is clearly considering big-money moves in the future.

Ange Postecoglou needs support from Daniel Levy

If Postecoglou is to relieve the pressure currently on Daniel Levy to bring in a new manager, funds should have been made available for more signings to be made last month.

Of course, Postecoglou continues to dig himself a deeper hole by not adapting to the challenges in front of him, but with several key injuries, Spurs needed more than just two additions.

This was proven during the 4-0 thrashing by Liverpool in the EFL Cup semi-final on Thursday 6 February, with Archie Gray starting at right-back, Richarlison in attack and three academy players on the bench.

However, Levy continues to leave his manager in the dark while the on-pitch chaos ensues, only to likely put an end to Postecoglou's suffering once the finger points directly at the owner.
