‘Yoane Wissa wanted by Tottenham’ as Brentford stance on Thomas Frank deal emerges
Tottenham are considering a move for Brentford striker Yoane Wissa.
Thomas Frank is hoping to add a new attacker to his squad this summer, with Richarlison rumoured to be on the way out at The Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
Mathys Tel has already joined the club permanently from Bayern Munich, after Spurs decided to trigger the £30million buy option included in his January loan move.
Frank’s options have also been boosted by the return of Manor Solomon, who enjoyed a prolific campaign on loan at Leeds United in the Championship last season.

Spurs eyeing Wissa
Frank, who was named Tottenham manager following the sacking of Ange Postecoglou, knows Wissa very well, having brought him to Brentford in 2021.
The 28-year-old had enjoyed a positive start to life in the Premier League, but came alive last season.
Wissa netted 19 goals and provided five assists for the Bees, often deployed alongside fellow goal-scorer Bryan Mbuemo.
Spurs had hoped to bring Mbuemo to North London this summer, but the Frenchman looks set on a move to Manchester United.

But Spurs have maintained their interest in Wissa, according to Lyall Thomas.
Brentford are aware of the interest, but direct contact is yet to be made between the clubs about the forward.
A striker capable of filling in on the wings, Wissa would likely deliver guaranteed goals for Spurs and provide competition for Dominic Solanke – who faced a lacklustre first season in White following his £65m move from Bournemouth.
It was ultimately Spurs’ defence, rather than their attack, that cost them in the Premier League last season, but Frank will be keen to build on the 64-goal tally.
Wissa would be a smart signing for Spurs
Brentford’s willingness to part ways with Wissa this summer is yet to be explored.
The Bees, now led by Keith Andrews, are likely to lose top scorer Mbuemo to Manchester United, and club captain Christian Norgaard, who is finalising a move to Arsenal.
Losing Wissa as well would leave Brentford with a mountain to climb ahead of the new season.
If Spurs can convince the Bees to let the Dr Congo international go, however, they would be completing a smart piece of business, with immediate benefits for the squad.
