Yoane Wissa bombshell: Tottenham contact Brentford over late transfer
Tottenham have stepped up their interest in Brentford forward Yoane Wissa, according to Foot Mercato.
The French news outlet reported via their website on 29 January that Spurs have contacted Brentford over the signing of the 28-year-old.
Meanwhile, the Congo international has also been contacted to inform him of the North London giants’ interest in signing him before the winter transfer window closes on Monday, 3 February.
Ange Postecoglou to sign Yoane Wissa at Tottenham?
Tottenham have remained quiet in the market after signing Antonin Kinsky in the first week of the winter transfer window.
However, Ange Postecoglou’s side are aiming to make at least one outfield signing before the deadline on Monday, 3 February [The Telegraph].
The Greek-Australian manager is reportedly keen to add a new attacker to his ranks amid the injury absences of Dominic Solanke, Brennan Johnson and Timo Werner.
Spurs have registered an interest in signing Bayern Munich ace Mathys Tel, but face competition from Chelsea.
That is perhaps why the North London giants are also plotting a late move for Wissa, who joined Brentford from French club Lorient for £8.4million (€10m) in 2021.

The Bees may be willing to sell Wissa this window as he will enter the final year of his contract with them at the end of the season.
He has notably been in fine form for Thomas Frank’s side this season, bagging 11 goals and two assists in 20 Premier League appearances.
In other Tottenham news, Spurs are hot on the heels of this player playing in the Scottish Premiership.
